The framework for the ISSW 2018 programme has been finalized.
ISSW 2018 received around 440 short abstracts from 26 different countries.

To provide a high quality and a variety rich program, ISSW 2018 applied a transparent review and scheduling process, emphasizing the involvement of the international snow and avalanche community.

All abstracts were assigned to several reviewers (130 in total) in a double blind review, according to the review criteria.
For each abstract a minimum of three reviews was thankfully included for a final ranking in the scheduling process of ISSW 2018.

Following the authors preference, the ISSW motto ‘a merging of theory and practise’ and emphasizing the diversity of the program,
presenters were assigned to one of the 19 oral and poster sessions, distributed over eight General and eleven Special topics.

Ten YSP-nominees were selected from around 50 submissions, following the reviewers opinion and ranking of the short abstracts.
The three beneficiaries were chosen, following the award guidelines, especially encouraging candidates with a long travel distance
and highlighting the diversity of presenters.
