Extended Short Abstract Deadline 2018:

We kindly ask you to submit your paper via the online submission above until Monday, April 30, 2018. 

Abstract submission

Short abstracts are a short textual appetizer of your contribution (word limit: 500 words).
They are required for the submission process, including review and scheduling, and will be published in the conference program.

Authors are greatly encouraged to submit short abstracts in English but they may be written in German, Italian or French. These will be translated to English for reviewing and scheduling process and published in the conference program.  

After the short abstracts have been reviewed and formally accepted (mid June) and the presenting author has registered, extended abstracts have to be submitted by presenting authors. Extended abstracts are a more detailed description of your contribution including text and figures (see formatting guidelines) and will be published (digitally) in the conference proceedings. Authors should consider that their extended abstracts will be printed as submitted. They will have a wider reach when submitted in English, however they may also be written in German, Italian or French. 


Create an account

To start the submission process you must first create an account. Please make sure to fill in all details and DO NOT CLOSE THE PAGE before the process is completed, since all email addresses have to be unique to the system and may only be used once!
Once you have logged in successfully, please click on "Update Contact Information" to complete the information of the corresponding author. Once you have added all the information requested in the subsequent screens, the buttons for abstract submission will be visible in the navigation bar.

If you have already created an account, please click on the navigation tabs above to submit an abstract, edit draft abstracts etc.


The submission process

First, you fill in details regarding your abstract such as the title, authors and category, and afterwards you upload the abstract text. 

Step 1: Title and Suggested Presentation Type: You enter the title of your abstract here, please use upper and lower case, do not put a full stop at the end. Maximum allowed length is 40 words. 

Step 2: General Topics: Please choose here a general topic for your abstract. 

Step 3: Authors and Affiliations: The corresponding author is automatically in the system as the first author. You may change this information if necessary and then add additional affiliations and co-authors by clicking on the corresponding buttons.

Step 4: Abstract Upload: Here you are asked to upload your short abstract. Maximum allowed words: 500. 

Step 5: Review: Please check again, whether all details are correct. Any sections that are still required to be completed for submission are noted in red.

Step 6: Submit your abstract. This will only be possible if all previous steps have been completed. Please note: At any time in the process you can click the "Save As Draft" button to save your incomplete submission and return to it at a later time. Once your abstract has been submitted no more changes are possible since it is directly forwarded to the reviewers. 

You will receive an automated email confirming the abstract submission was successful. 

Step 7: Once your abstract has been accepted and the presenting author formally registered to ISSW 2018, you will be able to upload the extended abstract (registration opening March 26, 2018; presenting author registration and payment deadline June 18, 2018).
