Snow and avalanche dynamics, risk management, engineering measures, avalanche forecasting, rescue, education and human factors are brought to the fore.


	New Ways in Risk Management \| The Public Day For the first time in order to offer the results and topics of the conference to a broader audience, a Public Day will be organized. In cooperation with the Tyrolean Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP) and the EUSALP Action Group 8 natural hazard management in the Alpine region will be the topic of the day. The event takes place in the Hall “Tirol” of the Congress Innsbruck on 10th October from 1.30 p.m.. The mission statement is: Safe living space through new ways in risk management! Exchange your Expertise \| The Board & Project Meetings To promote an international and interdisciplinary exchange between experts in the snow community the ISSW2018 provides various opportunities and special slots to support board & project meetings. Use the opportunity and contact Ms. Hanna Krismer for further information. Collecting Plurality \| The #EYEssw Picture Award Supported by Wyssen Avalanche Control you have the chance to win 500 € & other attractive prices for your outstanding picture: Picturesque moment from your daily work thats fits to the ISSW general topics including a short sentence about the picture (where or what is exciting about it etc.). You can submit pictures either: Via the ISSW Facebook website with #EYEssw Email to: eyessw@wyssen.com Deadline is September 30, 2018. The pictures will be evaluated by a jury and the best ones will be printed and presented at the ISSW-Fernie Night on 12th October 2018. Click here for the preliminary program.
